Summary

Apple's Health team is looking for an experienced design leader who loves being close to the work. You'll join a growing creative team — working alongside clinical experts and world-class technologists — and bring the kind of collaborative, design-obsessed leadership that makes a team thrive. Together, you'll shape content and technology that helps Apple customers live healthier, more informed lives.

Description

The Design Manager will own the creative direction of content across all media formats — setting the bar for quality, overseeing design work in digital and video, and commissioning illustration and photography. You will be a strategic thinker and skilled communicator with a proven track record of planning and executing within a highly collaborative team. This is a player-coach role: you'll stay close to the work and the people making it, while also serving as a trusted creative voice for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 10–12 years of experience crafting extraordinary digital content designs for iOS, desktop, or web platforms, including at least 3–5 years in a design management or creative leadership role
Background in media, editorial, publishing, or content-forward digital environments — a deep understanding of how stories are told across formats is strongly preferred
Proficient in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, After Effects, Illustrator, and other design tools
Strong communication and presentation skills with a talent for working closely with cross-functional teams including video, data, design, category experts, engineering, and program management
Established network of designers, illustrators, photographers, and photo production teams
Proven ability to oversee the workflow for many projects at once without losing quality or momentum
Passion for Apple, its products, and its customers

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading creative at a media company, editorial brand, or content-forward digital platform
Experience with health apps, programs, or data is not necessary but valuable; a genuine passion for health is a must
Self-motivated and able to efficiently lead a project and a team with appropriate autonomy
Prototyping and/or animation experience is a plus
Budget management experience and creative thinking around resource allocation
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change — able to adapt fluidly while keeping the team steady and focused
