The Retail Engineering Point of Sale (POS) team is responsible for the technology and IT systems used to enable Apple Retail Stores service to millions of customers and are an industry leader in Retail. Description

As a Quality Engineer you'll need to take an active role in shaping the quality of our software. This will demand deep integration with our development engineers, creating test plans, bug reporting and triaging, identifying automation opportunities, and supporting design reviews. You'll help us identify holes in coverage, actively sync with multi-functional teams to reduce duplication, foster better testing, and preserve product stability. Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve test coverage and efficiency

Identify, document, and track software defects through the entire bug lifecycle, working closely with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers during feature development to ensure quality requirements are defined and testable

Validate software builds, device configurations, and use cases to ensure compatibility and performance

Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes, testing tools, and automation frameworks

Report on testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness to stakeholders, providing clear insights into product quality

Preferred Qualifications

Experience testing iOS applications

Hands-on experience using generative AI/LLMs for test generation, code review, and documentation

Excellent communication skills with a sense of ownership and ability to advocate for quality across teams

Self-motivated with sharp attention to detail and a mindset for finding edge cases

Track record of reducing repetitive manual processes through automation and tooling improvements in Python Java or similar language.

Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing methodologies

Ability to read and assess code quality and risk across Java or similar languages

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, prioritize issues by customer impact, and collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

3+ years of relevant testing experience

Proficiency in Java or similar language
