Developer Experience Platform team is looking for an extraordinary Python backend engineer who has a robust understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)and Generative AI to join our team. You will help design, implement the core backend services and pipelines that integrate with various other enterprise services including LLMs and bring Gen AI services. You would support our mission by applying groundbreaking research in this rapidly evolving and exciting space, to our daily work. By contributing to our team, you'll play an integral part in developing our developer productivity tools, leaving a significant footprint on the evolution of our enterprise AI platforms.

Description

Developer Experience Platform team provides frameworks, services and developer tools to internal engineering teams in Apple to accelerate their SDLC. We are working on a Generative AI based Developer Experience Platform for internal use and assist our app development team. This role involves multiple aspects on the backend, like ensuring LLM based code generation is accurate, and integrating with various enterprise services. You will collaborate with Machine Learning engineers, Software engineers, and other data scientists to deliver and end to end solution for this platform.","responsibilities":"This is a hands-on role for developing and supporting new and existing features. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to effectively coordinate the complex interdependencies inherent in application development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Machine Learning with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation(RAG) and Generative AI.

Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform is a plus.

Collaborative mindset to brainstorm on architectural patterns to arrive at the best approach. Keen interest in keeping up with the latest in the industry.

Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience.

Proven experience in building complex agentic systems using LLMs. Strong programming skills, with a background in software architecture design and development.

4+ years of software engineering experience specializing in enterprise software development, with expertise in backend technologies including Java and Python, along with strong proficiency in database technologies and CI/CD solutions.

Strong programming skills building backend API services using Python and/or Java.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
