About the role

Apple’s Infrastructure Platform team sits at the center of one of the most ambitious infrastructure transformations in the industry. We operate at a scale few engineers ever encounter: over 1 million hosts, 50 datacenters, across 5 continents, serving 2.2 billion users worldwide — and we’re rebuilding how all of it works.

We’re not maintaining the status quo. We’re changing it. AI is actively reshaping how we design, operate, and evolve our infrastructure, and we’re looking for engineers who want to be at the front of that shift — not watching it happen from the sidelines.

Our team builds and owns the critical platform layer that powers i Cloud and Apple’s backend services at hyperscale: structured and unstructured storage, caching, queuing, search, and more. These systems store exabytes of data and underpin some of Apple’s most visible products and features. The platform supports services built on open-source foundations — Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, Redis, Zookeeper — alongside internally developed technologies built specifically for Apple’s scale and requirements.

What we’re building here forms Apple’s long-term infrastructure moat — proprietary technologies designed to lead the company in efficiency, safety, security, and the speed at which we can deliver change. This is foundational work with a decades-long horizon.
