Negotiating with Underwriters for the best terms, conditions and competitive pricing for existing and new clients; Verifying that all policies and documentation for accuracy in accordance with terms and conditions; Collaborating with Account Executive(s) to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business; Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business; Negotiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client; Following up with Insurer(s) to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met; Approving documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals; Acting in the capacity of a mentor and peer coach to the Broking team; Providing leadership, mentoring and directing to the Associate Broker(s) and Broking Coordinator(s); Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practices; How this opportunity is different This Commercial Broker role at Aon gives you the opportunity to own complex placements while collaborating closely with seasoned Account Executives, underwriters, and a broader Commercial Risk team that values your market insights. You won’t just process renewals—you’ll shape coverage strategies, lead negotiations, and directly influence client outcomes in a visible, impact-driven role. You’ll also mentor Associate Brokers and Broking Coordinators, positioning yourself as a technical and leadership reference point within the team. All of this comes with the backing of Aon’s global platform, tools, and best practices, giving you both local autonomy and world-class support. Skills and experience that will lead to success Minimum of five (5) to (10) years of relevant experience with broking DEC or higher education in a relevant field or equivalent years of work experience in a relevant industry. AMF license in commercial insurance; French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written; Client focused and proven relationship building skills; Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision; Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task; Aon is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this position.
