AI Software Engineer, Physical AI

Analog Devices (ADI) is seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join our engineering team that supports a broad range of industry leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, and communication systems, with a focus on aerospace and defense systems.

As an AI Software Engineer, you will design and implement next-generation AI tooling and models for heterogeneous compute platforms. This role sits at the intersection of physical AI, machine learning tooling, and embedded heterogeneous computing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement transformation pipelines that progressively refine high-level model descriptions into hardware-executable forms.
  • Develop approaches to map computations efficiently onto heterogeneous compute resources.
  • Develop model optimization strategies such as graph simplification, operator fusion, quantization, layout transformation, and precision scaling.
  • Optimize for latency, throughput, and energy efficiency on edge and embedded systems.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or Computer Science (CS) with minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of AI software, compiler infrastructure, or systems software development.

  • Strong software development skills in multiple programming languages, including C/C++ and Python.

  • Experience with embedded systems

  • Experience with SCM (svn, git)

  • Excellent software design, problem solving and analytical debugging skills

  • Knowledge of machine learning model architectures and inference workflows.

  • For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S.

  • Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S.

Department of State:

  • Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
