Position Summary

Collaborate on a team to design and engineer complex mechanical products from concept through production, collaborating across internal teams, external suppliers, and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes on demanding timelines.

This role is a remote position and reports to the Head of Product Design on the Concept Team at Analog Devices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent 4-year undergraduate degree).
  • 5+ years of experience designing and engineering mechanical products Responsibilities & Core Competencies.

Responsibilities & Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and hands-on experience designing injection-molded, sheet metal, cast, and 3D-printed components, as well as complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Assist in driving complex projects, make critical engineering decisions, and rapidly iterate concepts from early prototypes through refined designs.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for design controls throughout the FDA submission process.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally using email, text, and Microsoft Teams to enable effective project collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with external suppliers and vendors (domestic and international).

Technical Tools

  • Proficiency with Solid Works for part and assembly design, 2D drawing creation (GD&T), and industry-standard specification practices.
  • Ability to generate manufacturing-ready outputs, including files used for rapid prototyping and 3D printing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Location

Chicago area, with close proximity to and the ability to commute to Oak Park, IL as needed.

Work Hours

Full-time position working 40+ hours per week with flexible scheduling; evening and weekend work may be required based on project urgency and deadlines.

Travel

Regular local travel.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $110,385 to $151,808.

  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
