ABOUT THE ROLERole Description:

The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable software solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business partners and other software engineers to develop and deploy the latest, advanced technologies in support of product optimization
• Work closely with the delivery and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with standard city planning approved architectural and development guidelines
• Support requirements gathering and specification creation process for the development work.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Perform system testing and validation to ensure all components function correctly and efficiently
• Implement automation tools and processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of managed systems.
• Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology
• Develop innovative solution using generative AI technologies
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
• Work closely with product team, business team, and other stakeholders
• Design, develop, and implement applications and modules, including custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements
• Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems and translate them into software architecture and design specifications
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies to ensure the quality of the software
• Identify and resolve software bugs and performance issues
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality software on time
• Maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, and development processes
• Work on integrating with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s/Bachelor’s degree with 12 -15 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field

Functional Skills: Must-Have Skills:

• Strong knowledge of information systems and cloud technologies
• Strong programing skills in languages such as Python. Working experience of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark, Hadoop), and performance tuning in query and data processing
• Working experience with DevOps/MLOps practice and CI/CD pipelines

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and methodologies
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
• Experience with systems integration and validation
• Experience with Clinical Domain and GxP regulations

Shift Information:

This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required based on business requirements.
