ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description: Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking an individual who thrives in ambiguity, capable of driving end-to-end process excellence and performance management with speed and precision.

In this vital role, you will serve as the Director of Global Supply Chain Operations Enablement, leading strategic and operational enablement at Amgen India Supply Chain.In this role you oversee the Supply Chain Network Strategies & Data Analytics (OSBR), Variation Management Office (VMO), Product Lifecycle Management (including Artwork Management) and Master Data Management (MDM) functions.

This position ensures that AIN’s Supply Chain Operations Enablement (capabilities, processes and data foundations are optimized to deliver reliable supply, operational efficiency and strategic alignment with global and regional priorities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the AIN Supply Chain Operations Enablement strategy, aligned with global Supply Chain objectives and Regional Supply Chain business priorities.
  • Interact with the Functional leadership teams to ensure strategies deliver on evolving requirements and processes
  • Partner with the Digital Strategy and IT teams to define and implement technology roadmaps.
  • Act as a key member of the AIN Supply Chain Leadership Team, driving transformation, standardization, and capability development at AIN.
  • Provide strategic insight and governance to ensure network agility, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence.

Functional Oversight

  • Network Strategy & Data Analytics: Lead AIN network analysis, scenario modeling, and capacity planning; enhance visibility through advanced analytics and performance dashboards.
  • Variation Management Office (VMO): Drive proactive coordination and efficient implementation of product variations (post-approval changes), strengthening consistency, compliance, and performance across the network.
  • Product Lifecycle Management & Artwork: Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle processes, including launch readiness, label changes, and artwork governance.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): Ensure accuracy, governance, and harmonization of master data across systems to enable process integration and decision support.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Champion process harmonization and continuous improvement across all GSC Operations Enablement domains.
  • Drive adoption of digital tools and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Partner with Global and Regional Supply Chain to ensure alignment, compliance, and knowledge sharing.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across multiple disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and accountability.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • 14+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or transformation roles within the biopharma or life sciences industry.
  • Proven track record in leading cross-functional programs in areas such as network strategy, lifecycle management, or master data.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Experience leading diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, with experience ensuring adherence to internal control policies and Procurement procedures.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Proven ability to collaborate with Digital Strategy and IT teams to define and implement technology roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide actionable insights and performance reports to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Experience with analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI etc. )

Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role): Preferred

  • Master’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
