ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

In this vital role you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing indirect tax solutions such as Vertex and SAP Document and Reporting Compliance. As a Tax Architect within the Technology team, this role will help guide the transition from the global ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise and integrating the Indirect Tax tools. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and configure native tax processes to SAP S/4HANA ecosystem and integrating Vertex, addressing both input and output tax requirements

• Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications

• Ensure the SAP S/4HANA and SAP Document and Reporting compliance solution configured meets business goals and leading practices

• Conduct architectural reviews and assessments to identify potential risks and recommend mitigations

• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver and sustain Amgen's S/4HANA ecosystem utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• Develop innovative solutions that drive speed to value via AI/ML and leading control practices

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience in implementing and configuring SAP Document and Reporting Compliance modules such as e-invoicing, withholding tax, and real-time reporting

• Hands on experience in configuring Vertex and integrating with SAP solutions such as S/4HANA Core, Ariba, SAP Master Data Governance, etc.

• Strong SAP FICO experience and knowledge of global tax regulations, including VAT/GST, sales tax, and e Tax regulations such as SAF-T

• Ability to identify and deploy leading practices that will drive business value for Amgen's tax professionals for input/output tax

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP Advanced Intercompany, SAP Material Ledger, and optimized transfer pricing setup in SAP

• Experience in Corporate Tax suite, Automation, and Reporting

• Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Professional Certifications:

• Certification in Vertex (or) SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (Mandatory)

• Certification in Thomson Reuters (preferred)

• Relevant SAP S/4HANA FICO certification (preferred)

• High degree of initiative and self-motivation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate Degree and 1 year of relevant SAP experience OR

• Master’s degree with 4 - 6 years of relevant SAP experience OR

• Bachelor’s degree with 6 - 8 years of relevant SAP experience OR

• Diploma with 10 - 12 years of relevant SAP experience
