Job Description
In this vital role, you will support the Operations Finance team, with a primary focus on standard costing execution and analysis across Amgen’s manufacturing network. You will work closely with global stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the end‑to‑end standard costing process, including preparation, system updates, and validation of standard costs
- Maintain and update standard costs in SAP S/4Hana (including material, BOM, routing, and overhead components)
- Perform monthly costing-related variance analysis (standard vs actual), including PPV, usage, and overhead variances
- Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and roll‑forwards
- Assist with absorption testing, excess capacity analysis, and related reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory and costing
- Support audit requirements, in collaboration with Cost Accounting
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Global Finance teams to resolve costing issues and data gaps
- Support S/4HANA system enhancements, testing, and data validation related to costing and inventory
- Participate in continuous improvement and automation initiatives within costing and inventory processes

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance
- Hands‑on experience with standard costing and variance analysis in a complex manufacturing environment
- Experience working with SAP (S/4HANA preferred)
- Fluency in English Preferred Qualifications
- CA / CMA / CPA or MBA (Finance)
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and US GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with automation or reporting tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment
