Role Description:
The ERP Run Lead plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of Amgen’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This individual will drive operational excellence, enable continuous improvement, and uphold the highest standards of system performance and integrity across global business processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence & Reliability

Oversee day-to-day ERP operations, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance across SAP and integrated platforms.

Lead proactive monitoring, incident management, and problem resolution processes to minimize system downtime.

Establish and maintain robust operational KPIs and SLAs for ERP services.
Security & Compliance
-
Partner with Information Security, Compliance, and Audit teams to maintain ERP systems aligned with Amgen’s cybersecurity and GxP standards.

Ensure adherence to SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.

Manage and continuously improve access controls, segregation of duties, and security patching processes.
Continuous Improvement
-
Identify and implement process and technology enhancements to improve ERP system resilience and user experience.

Champion automation, standardization, and modernization within the ERP Run operations.

Leverage metrics and data insights to drive service improvements and optimize total cost of ownership.
Leadership & Collaboration

Lead and develop a high-performing Run team (internal and partner resources) across global locations.

Collaborate closely with Solution Leads, Delivery, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless service transitions and lifecycle management.

Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders on ERP service performance and improvement opportunities.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree with 12 - 15 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
-
Bachelor’s degree with 14 - 17 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills:
-
Demonstrated success leading ERP operations for large, global, and regulated enterprises, ensuring system stability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA, BTP and RISE with SAP operations, including monitoring, incident/change management, and end-to-end system integrations.
-
Proven ability to manage service delivery and vendor performance, driving accountability through metrics, SLAs, and continuous improvement.
-
Hands-on experience deploying automation and process optimization frameworks to enhance ERP run efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Good-to-Have Skills:
-
Broad understanding of SAP functional domains and technical platforms, including SAP BTP and cloud infrastructure (AWS or hyperscaler equivalents).

Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise service management tools such as Service Now.

Exposure to ERP security, compliance controls, and cloud-native monitoring and observability practices.

Understanding of AI/ML, GenAI, and analytics for predictive monitoring, incident prevention, and operational optimization.
Professional Certifications:

ITIL 4 Managing Professional or ITIL 4 Strategist

SAP Certified Technology Specialist – SAP on Hyperscalers (AWS/Azure/GCP)
