ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of Revenue Management ecosystem. The role focuses on development and monitoring of Mule Soft APIs interfaces and AWS Red Shift as central datahub databases.

This position will involve hands-on development across technologies, building interfaces, ensuring compliance with security best practices, Red Shift Serverless data and deploying cloud-native solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, architects, and agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions that enhance customer experience and safeguard data.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of complex software projects from conception to deployment

• Manage software delivery scope, risk, and timeline

• Possesses strong rapid prototyping skills, quickly translate concepts into working code

• Design, develop, and maintain Mule Soft integrations and APIs using Anypoint Platform, following API-led connectivity and Amgen enterprise integration standards

• Partner closely with business, QA, security, and infrastructure teams to translate regulated requirements into scalable, compliant integration solutions

• Build and support integrations in cloud environments (e.g., AWS), including secure connectivity, monitoring, and performance optimization

• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across lower and production environments while strictly adhering to SDLC, change management, and validation processes

• Contribute to automated testing, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high quality, audit-ready solutions

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers

• Develop innovative solution using generative AI technologies

• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices

• Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations

• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements

• Analyze and understand the functional and technical requirements of applications, solutions and systems and translate them into software architecture and design specifications

• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies to ensure the quality of the software

• Identify and resolve software technical challenges effectively

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to deliver high-quality software on time

• Work on integrating with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality

• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently

• Work in Jira and strong practice of Agile

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficient and strong hands on experience in Mule Soft

• Mule Soft Certificates

• Hands on experience with various cloud services, understand pros and cons of various cloud services in well architected cloud design principles

• Hands on experience with Full Stack software development. Proficient in programming language Python(preferred), JavaScript, React.js/Node.js/Express.js SQL/NoSQL.

• Strong problem solving, analytical skills

• Ability to learn quickly

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experienced with API integration, serverless, microservices architecture

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Hands on experience with Agile practice and Jira

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Hands-on experience building RESTful/GraphQL APIs

• Understanding of application performance monitoring and optimization

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (preferred)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

• High degree of initiative and self-motivation

• Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

• Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
