ABOUT THE ROLE:
Role Description:
The Specialist Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications within the Clinical Computation Platform Product Team. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable software solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with business partners and other software engineers to develop and deploy the latest, advanced technologies in support of product optimization
-
Work closely with the delivery and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with standard city planning approved architectural and development guidelines
-
Possesses strong rapid prototyping skills and can quickly translate concepts into working code
-
Develop high‑quality UI components and front‑end application features using modern JavaScript frameworks
-
Translate concepts, wireframes, and UX designs into fully functional user interfaces
-
Take ownership of UI‑related development tasks from design through deployment
-
Build responsive, accessible, and performant web applications across devices and browsers
-
Work with designers and product partners to ensure UI work aligns with user‑centric standards
-
Contribute to front‑end and back‑end development where needed, integrating UI with APIs and cloud services
-
Support requirements gathering and specification creation process for the development work
-
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
-
Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations
-
Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively
-
Perform system testing and validation to ensure all components function correctly and efficiently
-
Implement automation tools and processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of managed systems
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s / Bachelor's degree with 9 - 12 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills:
-
Strong proficiency in modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue or similar).

Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component‑based architecture.
-
Experience with programming languages like Python and Java
-
Experience with databases like SQL, Oracle, Redshift
-
Experience integrating UI with backend APIs, cloud services, or microservices.
Good-to-Have Skills:
-
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
-
Experience with DevOps tools and practices
-
Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and methodologies
-
Familiarity with UI testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
-
Experience with design systems or UI component libraries.
-
Cloud-native development experience (AWS)
-
Experience with systems integration and validation
-
Experience with Clinical Domain and GxP regulations
Soft Skills:

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams

High degree of initiative and self-motivation

Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully

Willingness to learn new technologies
Shift Information:
This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required based on business requirements.
