We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends.
Amex Digital Labs is hiring a Product Director to lead the advancement of our membership recommendation platform. This role will define and scale how American Express delivers personalized recommendations across channels including Resy, Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS), and the Amex App-- ultimately shaping how Card Members engage with their membership.
The platform powers a broad and growing set of use cases across multiple products, including emerging generative and agentic experiences. This role will advance the platform’s intelligence, versatility, and scalability to deliver near-term, high-impact use cases while shaping the long-term evolution of recommendations at Amex. You will work across teams to shape product needs, evolve the platform to meet them, and scale recommendations as a foundational capability embedded across Amex experiences.
How will you make an impact in this role?
-
Product Strategy: Define a compelling strategy for our membership recommendation platform and the role it plays in powering discovery and engagement across Amex digital experiences. Ground the strategy in customer needs, business priorities, and advancements in AI/ML.
-
Product Roadmap: Set and drive a roadmap that advances the recommendation platform and its applications across products, balancing investments across foundational platform capabilities while delivering on near-term priorities and building toward long-term scale.
-
Personalization Leadership: Lead the adoption and expansion of the recommendation platform across Amex, establishing it as a core driver of personalized, discovery-led experiences.
-
Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment: Partner closely with engineering, data science, and front-end product teams to bring recommendation capabilities to life across products. Help incubate and ideate new product constructs, shape their design and architecture, and drive strong execution from concept through launch.
-
Team Leadership & Talent Development: Build and lead a high-performing team. Set clear goals, create focus, and ensure the team is set up for success. Provide coaching and support to help individuals grow and deliver their best work.
Minimum Qualifications

-
Strong leadership skills and commitment to colleague development, with experience managing and developing product teams; able to coach, mentor, and guide direct reports.

Exceptional stakeholder and partner management skills, with a history of fostering productive, accountable, and trusted relationships across business units, technology teams, and risk teams.
-
Technically fluent, with a deep appreciation for engineering and data science disciplines and the ability to engage in solutioning, trade-off discussions, and roadmap prioritization with technical teams.
-
Highly analytical and data-driven, experienced in defining metrics, analyzing KPIs, and using data and experimentation to identify opportunities, diagnose problems, and inform product decisions, particularly in the context of personalization and customer engagement.
