About The Position The Distribution System Operating Supervisor is responsible for directing field personnel in the operation of the subtransmission and distribution system in a safe and cost effective manner to ensure continuity of electric service to customers as well as restore electric service to customers in a timely manner. Key responsibilities include:
- Dispatch and direct field personnel in response to electric system outages and emergencies.
- Exercise jurisdictional/functional authority and issue and monitor Workmen's Protection Assurance for subtransmission and distribution systems.
- Direct the work of and supervise field personnel in the safe, efficient, and reliable operation along with maintaining the integrity of the subtransmission and distribution system. This also includes coordinating all activities on these systems by keeping accurate records, writing and dispatching switching orders to isolate equipment which may include analyzing loads and equipment ratings.
- Restore outages in a safe and timely manner. This includes analyzing information from a variety of electronic systems, operating manuals, customer calls, and any pertinent information from field workers to determine the extent and the cause of outages. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university preferred. Five or more years relevant experience (e.g, distribution systems, dispatch, electric operations or construction, journeyman level electrician) required without Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Five or more years of other relevant experience may be considered with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Working knowledge of distribution system design and operations. PC/Computer skills preferred. Must have the ability to direct and supervise a number of diversified, concurrent field activities which could greatly affect Ameren's customers, personnel, and financial resources. The DSOS works rotating shift schedules in an office/plant/field environment. Also includes any unusual working conditions, shifts, travel, overtime, callouts, etc. Additional Information Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
Compensation Range:
$105,100.00 - $162,900.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
