AvSec Manager, Brazil, Aviation Security at Amazon

The Amazon Aviation Security (Av Sec) team is seeking an enthusiastic, customer obsessed Av Sec Security Specialist to provide support and oversight for x-ray screening operations in Brazil. This a new initiative for the transportation supply chain to secure the supply chain for air cargo on passenger aircraft. Responsibilities include supporting the Regional Av Sec Manager and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, federal regulations, and standardized processes. The Av Sec Manager performs ongoing assessments of operating risks and the development of appropriate mitigation strategies to sustain business operations, existing and future.

Key job responsibilities
The Av Sec Manager responsibilities include managing ambiguity through knowledge, experience and to allocate resources to meet daily goals. This role will manage processes, vendor x-ray screening operators and be responsible for securing the supply chain for external fulfillment to air. This position will assist with developing the workforce to meet long-term process targets. This position will directly support a team of 3rd party vendors.
The Av Sec Manager responsibilities also include verifying compliance with security procedures and regulatory standards, physical security design standards and policies and utilize Security Management Systems (SeMS) processes for risk mitigation. Additional responsibilities include developing new and evaluating existing security standards by establishing workflows, SLAs, and operational excellence mechanisms by ensuring customer outcomes are data driven, measured and validated.
This is a new and evolving business operation. We are looking for someone who can introduce best practices and move with a strong bias for action as we ramp up these efforts.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Experience interacting with local food safety regulators
• Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
• Experience in Business English skills, both verbal and written
• Speak, write, and read fluently in Portuguese

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
• Experience with SQL and Excel
• Experience in Food Safety Law
• Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels
• Experience defining and executing program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
