The AWS Power Solutions team is looking for a Power Solutions Manager to own the origination and execution of energy projects that enable and optimize AWS access to grid connection capacity across the EMEA region. You will be responsible for originating, evaluating and contracting of power solutions across generation and storage solutions.

The successful candidate will have experience in power project development, generation, transmission, energy markets, commerical contracting and Strategic Planning across major power systems in EMEA. They will have the ability to identify technical power solutions that can meet the needs of specific grid operators (TSOs) across EMEA, drive commercial terms to meet technical requirements by collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team across energy, engineering, legal, policy, PR and community teams. They must understand the nuances of utility tariffs, power project development and power purchasing along with industry trends in generation technology and energy policy. They must be able to drive key stakeholders across Amazon teams and also with utilities and energy companies to deliver such projects. You will have a results orientated approach, strong analytical skillset, financial acumen and proven track record of working with utilities, regulators and developers across the energy industry.

• Key job responsibilities
• Originate, evaluate, and execute power generation solutions in EMEA
• Support development and execution of energy strategy for AWS data centers in EMEA.
• Drive due-diligence on power generation projects and recommendations to leadership on specific power solutions that meet AWS’ needs
• Own the power solutions plan for the EMEA region and deliver by working collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team
• Build relationships with senior leaders and other stakeholders in energy, power and utilities companies.
• Analyze trends and regulations in the clean energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon

About the team
The position can be based in Dublin, London or Madrid. Regular travel (10–20%) will be required throughout EMEA.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
• Demonstrated experience originating and executing power generation projects
• 10+ years experience in the energy or utilities sector, with a focus on power generation, transmission grids and/or grid regulations
• Demonstrated experience establishing partnerships and negotiating complex energy projects and a strategic thinker who can connect grid policy and regulatory frameworks with business impact

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
• Experience designing / delivering generation projects
