The Quality Associate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality control, and compliance across fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce categories. This role requires close coordination with suppliers, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to safeguard product integrity and customer trust.

  • Key job responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks for fruits, vegetables, and fresh produce, ensuring compliance with HACCP and ISO22000 standards.

  • Oversee food safety audits, address non-conformities, and implement corrective actions.

  • Liaise with municipality/regulatory bodies during inspections and maintain compliance documentation.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for customer complaints and ensure corrective and preventive measures are in place.

  • Train internal teams on basic hygiene practices, food handling, and operational procedures.

  • Manage vendor performance and collaborate with suppliers to improve quality consistency.

  • Stay updated on local fruits and vegetable market dynamics and ensure products meet both safety and market standards.

  • Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports using Microsoft Excel, and Word.

  • Travel as required to conduct supplier visits, audits, and quality assessments.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of with Excel experience
  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
