As Corporate Counsel supporting Enterprise Engineering, you'll work at the intersection of legal strategy and business innovation. You'll serve as the primary legal advisor for Amazon's internal services, including AI products, helping shape how innovative technology is developed and deployed responsibly. In this role, you'll tackle complex legal challenges spanning AI regulation, data rights, intellectual property, privacy, and security—working directly with engineering teams to find creative, business-focused solutions that enable the organization to scale with confidence.
- Key job responsibilities
- Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies for internal services and AI products, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance
- Advise engineering and product teams on matters including privacy, intellectual property, compliance, and technology deployment
- Draft and negotiate technology licensing agreements and other commercial contracts that support business objectives
- Provide strategic input on business decisions by offering legal perspective on emerging issues and long-term implications
- Build and refine legal processes and frameworks that enable teams to innovate while managing risk effectively
A day in the life
Your day might include reviewing AI product documentation to identify regulatory considerations, collaborating with engineers to design privacy-protective architectures, or negotiating technology licensing agreements that protect our interests while enabling partnerships. You'll move fluidly between providing real-time guidance on emerging legal questions and developing longer-term strategies that help our teams navigate complex regulatory landscapes. You'll also contribute to building processes and frameworks that allow the business to innovate quickly while managing legal risk thoughtfully.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience directly working with engineering teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
