Role Overview:

We're seeking a talented Software Development Engineer II to build scalable technology solutions that transform how Amazon approaches compliance and risk management. This role is critical for RCS's mission to scale compliance operations through technology, reduce manual processes, and enable Amazon's global expansion while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovate and Build: Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative compliance and risk management products and services to market
Design at Scale: Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the compliance technology industry
Create Intelligent Solutions: Develop solutions to run predictions and analytics on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed
Build Robust Systems: Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage and use
Solve Complex Problems: Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined compliance and risk management problems
Deliver with Agility: Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software that meets the evolving needs of compliance operations

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language ( Java Python)
Proven ability to design and implement scalable, distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Experience with compliance, risk management, or regulatory technology solutions
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data processing, and cloud technologies
Track record of delivering high-impact projects in fast-paced environments
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguity

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
