AWS is seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to shape the future of software development and AI in Italy.

About the Role:

As a Senior Developer Advocate on our Developer Experience team, you'll help developers navigate the fundamental shifts AI is bringing to software development. You'll combine deep software development expertise with exceptional communication skills to guide developers through adopting AI-powered tools, understanding new workflows, and adapting their practices as AI transforms how code is written, reviewed, and deployed.

What You'll Do:

You'll influence how the next generation of applications are built, with particular focus on:

• AI coding assistants and agentic AI
• Emerging software development practices and tools
• Developer experience and productivity

You'll also serve as a critical bridge between the developer community and AWS product teams. By gathering insights, feedback, and real-world use cases from developers, you'll influence how our products are built and ensure they meet the evolving needs of the community.

This role places you at the intersection of innovation and education, working alongside creators and innovators in this rapidly evolving space.

Our ideal candidate brings strong software development experience and hands-on building skills, current knowledge of how software development is evolving, and ability to translate technical content into understandable, engaging material for broader audiences

• Key job responsibilities
• Drive technical initiatives that showcase modern software development practices, emphasizing the role of AI and how to build on AWS
• Create and deliver compelling technical content in Italian and English through conference talks, workshops, live coding sessions and written media
• Build and nurture the developer community across Italy, with a particular focus on professional developers and students, in collaboration with our Community Managers
• Develop and share best practices for building modern applications using AI
• Collaborate with internal teams to influence product roadmaps based on the Italian developer community feedback
• Create regional content including code samples, architecture patterns, blog posts, and implementation guides
• Engage with open source communities and maintain strong presence in regional developer networks
• Work with local partners, educational institutions, and open source organizations to grow the next generation of developers

The EMEA Developer Relations is part of the global Developer Experience team.

We empower developers to innovate on AWS by providing exceptional experiences, fostering vibrant communities, and amplifying their voices. Through authentic advocacy and open source leadership, we transform builders into passionate AWS champions.

We show developers them how to practically use new technologies to build efficiently in the cloud. We educate and excite them in their journey, to tackle more complex cloud problems and build new solutions that leverage generative AI.

We earn trust with developers by being authentic, and by being practitioners ourselves. We are on an exciting journey together, and not everything is solved.

Basic Qualifications

• Willingness to travel within Europe
• Native-level Italian language skills and fluent English
• 5 years experience in software development in professional environments
• Experience with modern development tools and practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of developer advocacy
• History of technical content creation (blogs, talks, videos, etc.)
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS knowledge a plus)
• Understanding of Italy's technical ecosystem
