About the role

Be a part of operating the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure. Amazon Web Services is seeking a motivated, hardworking individual for the Data Center Logistics Specialist position.

The Logistics Specialist reviews data center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimise the flow of parts through their lifecycle — tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns. They work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Engineers to fulfil parts quickly and accurately. They work with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to source new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements. They are responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organisations.

The ideal Logistics Specialist will dive deep into data to understand the data center asset lifecycle. They maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and create reports for internal and external suppliers and management as required.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You'll join a diverse team of engineers, logistics specialists, security experts, and operations managers. You'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion

Key job responsibilities
Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries, working with vendors, carriers, and transportation teams

Receive and ship parts — both physically and in inventory systems — ensuring records are accurate at all times

Work closely with engineering and operations teams to fulfill parts requests quickly and accurately

Resolve inventory queries and maintain accurate data entry across systems

Execute stock transfers between locations locally and globally to optimise parts availability

Manage inventory through regular cycle counts, storage organisation, cleanliness, and safety of all workspaces

Process warranty returns (RMAs) directly with vendors and receive replacement parts

Operate pallet jacks, trolleys, and carts to move materials throughout the facility

Support ad hoc analysis and projects based on business needs

This is a physical role in a warehouse-style environment. You'll be on your feet for extended periods, lifting and carrying materials (up to 18kg), and working in conditions that may include varying temperatures and noise levels. Logistics Specialists adhere to strict safety standards, maintain high quality, and may travel to support other locations within and outside the country.

A day in the life
Your day starts with safety — checking your area is hazard-free and secure. From there, you're at the loading dock receiving shipments, scanning parts into systems, and keeping stock levels right. You'll run cycle counts, process hardware returns, and keep workspaces organised.

Beyond the routine, you'll use AI tools and the latest tech to find better ways of working. You'll collaborate globally, share ideas, and contribute to projects that improve operations across regions.

It's physical, fast-paced, and keeps the cloud running.
