WHS Safety Coordinator - Accommodation Program, WHS - Vendor Accommodation Audit Program
At Amazon, we are committed to ensuring our partners provide safe, healthy, and dignified living conditions for their workers, and we work with them to deliver continuous improvements and effective compliance programs. As our third-party operations continue to evolve across the UAE, we are seeking dedicated Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinators to support our vendor accommodation audit program and protect the welfare of workers housed in vendor-managed facilities.
The ideal candidate will apply Amazon's accommodation compliance standards in practice, lead site-level assessments to drive safety and welfare improvements, and support management's efforts to ensure compliance with all program expectations and applicable regulations. With a proactive and detail-oriented approach, you will help drive a culture of accountability by conducting regular audits, managing compliance metrics, and providing guidance on safety and welfare-related processes across our third-party vendor network. You will play a crucial advisory role for vendors and internal stakeholders, helping investigate non-compliances, escalate critical findings, and implement corrective measures that protect worker welfare.
In this role, you will report to the WHS Manager, Amazon Operations. Your responsibilities will evolve with the program and may include, but are not limited to, the following.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
What you'll do in this role:
- Conduct planned and ad-hoc accommodation audits across UAE vendor sites against Amazon's Global Accommodation Compliance Guidance and applicable UAE regulations
- Document audit findings, raise escalation tickets for critical findings, and develop Corrective Action Plans in coordination with vendors
- Track vendor remediation progress, review compliance evidence, and escalate non-responsive vendors to senior stakeholders
- Monitor and analyze compliance metrics, create reports, and identify trends requiring attention
The WHS Coordinator will conduct planned and ad-hoc accommodation audits across assigned UAE vendor sites, applying Amazon's Global Accommodation Compliance Guidance and applicable local regulations, including UAE Ministerial Decision 591/2016 for accommodations housing fewer than 50 workers and Cabinet Resolution No. 13 of 2009 for accommodations housing 50 or more workers. Audits will assess compliance across all relevant categories, including structural safety, minimum physical standards, health and safety provisions, fire safety, sanitation, dining, recreational areas, freedom of movement, and worker welfare.
The coordinator will document all audit findings accurately in Amazon's internal systems, raise escalation tickets to the relevant remediation teams for critical, alert, and major findings, and develop Corrective Action Plans in coordination with vendors. The role requires proactive vendor communication to schedule site access, manage approval processes, and track remediation progress against agreed timelines. The coordinator will review vendor-submitted evidence to confirm compliance closure and escalate non-responsive vendors to senior stakeholders as required.
The coordinator will support ad-hoc audit requests triggered by safety incidents, new building assessments ahead of peak hiring cycles, worker complaints requiring investigation, and regulatory compliance verification requests. The role also includes monitoring and analyzing compliance metrics, creating reports, and reviewing trends to identify areas requiring attention. As the program matures, the coordinator may take on additional responsibilities aligned with Amazon's broader worker welfare and social responsibility objectives.

- • Inter-city travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with Amazon's travel policy.
- • Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
- • The candidate must also demonstrate experience in data analysis and metrics reporting to support compliance tracking and trend analysis.
