About the role

We're looking for a Program Manager to join the People Experience and Technology (PXT) team supporting Japan Corporate. This is a high-impact role at the center of how we deliver people strategy in one of Amazon's most dynamic markets.

You'll partner directly with the PXT Director to drive rhythm of business, shape PXT strategy for JP Corp, and execute critical talent priorities. You'll also help the team embrace new ways of working — including leveraging AI and automation to make PXT more efficient and insight-driven. This role connects the dots across COEs, global PXT counterparts, and business stakeholders to deliver outcomes that matter.

If you love building mechanisms, thrive in ambiguity, and want to shape how a high-performing PXT team operates — this is the role.

Key job responsibilities

Rhythm of Business & PXT Strategy:

Own the PXT JP Corp operating cadence — business reviews, planning cycles, goal tracking, and leadership forums
Partner with the PXT Director to develop and iterate PXT strategy for JP Corp, aligned with Japan and global priorities
Build mechanisms that create transparency, drive accountability, and surface insights proactively

Talent Priorities & Program Execution:

Lead execution of critical talent priorities — succession planning, talent reviews, workforce planning, leadership development — from design through delivery
Build scalable program frameworks with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics
Use data to inform talent decisions and identify opportunities to improve outcomes
Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner with PXT Centres of Excellence (Compensation, Talent Management, L&D, DEI) to localize global programs and co-create Japan-specific solutions
Collaborate with global PXT counterparts to share best practices and represent Japan's unique context
Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, translating business needs into people strategies

Innovation & Enablement:

Identify opportunities to simplify and modernize PXT processes — including leveraging AI, automation, and technology-enabled solutions where appropriate
Drive enablement and change management as the team adopts new tools and ways of working
Develop dashboards, reporting, and communication frameworks for real-time visibility into program health
Effectively communicate strategy in both English and Japanese acting as a force multiplier for JP wide priorities

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Fluent Japanese & English written and verbal communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
