The Role

We need dynamic leaders like you to solve scale and automation problems that will drive our next phase of growth. In this role, you'll lead a team of smart engineers working on innovative, mission-critical software and services. You'll have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and development of products that transform B2B procurement.

You'll be responsible for owning large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools that enable seamless integration between Amazon Business and external procurement systems through our innovated system integration products such as Punch Out, Agentic Shopping, etc.

Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of Software Development Engineers to design and operate distributed systems for Amazon Business procurement and Punch Out integrations, setting technical direction for scalable, reliable B2B platforms.

Drive the evolution of Punch Out toward AI-enabled, agent-assisted workflows, applying LLM and agent-based capabilities to improve product discovery, decision support, and transaction efficiency.

Architect scalable services and APIs that integrate with enterprise ERP systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, Workday), enabling seamless, policy-aware purchasing experiences across diverse customer environments.

Partner with applied scientists, product, UX, and enterprise stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver solutions that address complex procurement and integration challenges at scale.

Establish strong engineering practices, including operational excellence, quality mechanisms, and effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity and delivery.

Drive architectural decisions to support complex approval workflows, business rules, and multi-marketplace requirements, ensuring maintainability, performance, and reliability.

Implement data-driven feedback loops to continuously improve system behavior, personalization, and efficiency across high-volume business transactions.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
