
Senior Category Manager, Security Services and Equipment

We are seeking a Sr. Category Manager, Security Services and Equipment to identify and lead specific category sourcing activities related to Developer and General Contractor to lower overall Total Cost of Ownership for Amazon building operations. The position will support, align, and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings and improve productivity across the category.

Earn the trust of key stakeholders to drive alignment with the business
Create a category strategy in conjunction with internal customers to ensure there is a comprehensive, unified approach for the category.
Achieve yearly cost saving or value targets appropriate to the category aligned with annual budget processes.
Define and report on key metrics that measure effectiveness of supply and cost savings
Champion standards and process improvements
Complete and update Line of Sight to Spend Analysis by Category, by Site, by Supplier
Maintain a Category List by Supplier including Sole/Single/Dual/Multiple Sources of Supply by Plant Site for each assigned Category
Ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place and that the risks are communicated
Provide options and execute recommendations including contracts, multiple qualified suppliers, qualified supplier back-up production sites, consignment, inventory levels, and other tactics to mitigate business risk
Build and manage portfolio of Categories to pursue based on impact and level of implementation difficulty in conjunction with the Site Purchasing Managers
Support Estimating Department with updated pricing and estimating requirements on a rolling 12 months basis
Maintain and update Approved Supplier List by Category and Site location per the design specifications
Prepare scope documents, project management documents, communication plans, and contract awards
Partner with legal teams and business unit stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality for the most complex vendor relationships
Develop relationships with suppliers and identify potential partnerships
Develop alternative sources for materials and services to help maintain a competitive atmosphere
Lead and or participate on teams planning, developing and implementing new tools, standard process and procedures to support Amazon’s purchasing functions
Negotiate/re-negotiate new and existing agreements or statements of work of the greatest complexity, including requests for information or requests for proposal
Implement and measure cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies
Review vendor performance and adherence to contractual terms, lead business reviews, and deliver resolution on difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics
Provide subject matter expertise in sourcing/procurement field
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT Candidate must be able to travel, up to 30%
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
