
Business Intel Engineer II, EU Step Fulfillment Optimization
About the role
Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon and when that box-with-the-smile arrives you wonder how it got to you so fast? Wondered where it came from and how much it cost Amazon? Wondered how Amazon designs its transportation network to scale and reliably deliver hundreds of millions of package to customer’s doorsteps? If so, EU Fulfillment Optimization (EU-FO) team is for you. We are tasked with optimizing the fulfillment on customer orders so that we fulfill all orders in the most intelligent manner while ensuring Amazon customers get their orders on time.
You are a data detective that wants to apply their analytical skills to own and drive real world business problems that impact customers.
Key job responsibilities
Deliver solutions to support our business and operations
Collect and analyze data to drive decisions and provide business insights
Design, implement and support a scalable and reliable infrastructure for Data Warehousing, BI and Analysis
Work closely with cross functional teams both in business and tech
Use analytic tools and languages, and present analytical results and insights using multiple methods, including written summaries and visualization/reporting tools such as Quicksight

- Develop analytical solutions to business problems that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity

- Proactively and continually, improve your level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant data resources
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data
- Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
- Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area
- Understand data resources and how, when, and what to use (and what not to use).
- Develop analyses (whether fully formed or exploratory) for the business’ sake, not for analyses’ sake

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
