AWS’ Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a Data Center Security Specialist with experience working in critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers.
As a Data Center Security Specialist you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence in a control room setting. You will provide support to on-site security and other customers by completing remote security tasks via a chat/phone system. Your vigilance will drive a culture of quality, support, and proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface directly with customers from across the APJC region covering 11 clusters across 9 countries. You will extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at available data. You will write and implement security procedures and directives, reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations. The ideal candidate will be open to working non-traditional hours to support a 24x7 security operation.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of Data Centers/ Colo environments by completing remote security task involving security systems and access control
  • Drive security awareness campaigns aimed at enhancing security vigilance and effectiveness
  • Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics
  • Lead security investigations across campus facilities
  • Working in critical infrastructure installations, ideally data centers
  • May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Mid or Evening/Overnight shifts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of security operations oversight experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related fields, or 1+ years of customer facing IT role or physical security systems/infrastructure work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, etc.
  • Work all days and shifts, including overtime (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays)
  • Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
