What Makes This Role Special:

• Greenfield Development: We are building entirely new, industry-standard payments products from scratch — designing and launching services from the ground up to process and disburse on-time payments at massive scale. This is your chance to define the architecture, set the technical direction, and leave your fingerprint on systems that will serve Amazon for years to come.

• Highly Scalable Systems: Our services are at the heart of Amazon's financial operations. You'll own systems that must scale seamlessly with Amazon's ever-growing payment volumes, maintain high availability, and meet the highest bar for reliability, security, and performance.

• Full-Stack Innovation with Micro-Front End Architecture: We're building modern, cohesive web applications using a federated micro-front end architecture — enabling finance and business customers to operate their critical functions through intuitive, modular, and independently deployable UIs. You'll work across the full stack, from scalable backend services to polished front-end experiences.

• GenAI-Powered Solutions: We are heavily investing in Generative AI to deliver novel, AI-driven solutions for our finance customers. From intelligent transaction insights and anomaly detection to AI-assisted reporting and smart payment recommendations — you'll leverage GenAI to transform how end customers interact with financial data and make decisions. • In this position, you will play a major role in the architecture, design, implementation and deployment of large-scale and complex services.

• You will push your design and architecture limits by inventing and simplifying complex problems.

• You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

• You will work with Amazon engineering and business teams across the globe in planning, designing, executing and implementing new services.

• Partner directly with other Sr. Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Principal Engineers, Technical Program Managers, Product Managers and Customers to understand features and continuously identify opportunities to build and deploy software solutions

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
