Associate Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal

Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial transaction lawyer based in Gurugram, India to support Amazon Web Services, the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering cloud computing and IT services in such areas as compute, storage, databases, internet of things, machine learning, quantum technologies, robotics, as well as providing training, digital transformation consulting and more.

Key job responsibilities
The role will be responsible for advising on and managing legal, contractual, and commercial matters across the AWS India business.

A day in the life
A typical day involves providing practical, business-focused legal support across a range of commercial and regulatory matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements, advising internal stakeholders, and managing ongoing legal risks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The team is part of a broader global legal function and is focused on delivering strategic, business-oriented legal support in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, partnering closely with the business to enable growth, navigate regulatory complexity, and drive impactful outcomes.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law
• Experience in transactional work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent
• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
• Licensed to practice law in India and/or the US, UK or other recognized jurisdictions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent
• Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
• Understanding of intellectual property, competition and privacy issues.
