Amazon Worldwide Grocery Tech (Whole Foods Market) is looking for a passionate, growth orientated and innovative Software Development Manager (SDM) to join the Grocery Operator Experience Software Team. This team is deployed to solve some of our most complex and challenging initiatives and will deliver innovative technical solutions leaving AI/ML technologies. We have an opportunity to revolutionize in-store user experience for over 100,000 Team Members and Associates and set new standards for accessing the highest quality organic and natural groceries.

As the SDM, you will be a key member of tech leadership and will need to drive forward the technology across Amazon to create a best in class grocery operator experience.
We are looking for a SDM that ready to become a leader of leaders, with strong business and technical skills, great communication abilities, and a passion to use data and technologies to help Whole Foods Market in-store and Grocery online fulfillment grow.

We're looking for entrepreneurial and innovative individuals who thrive on solving ambiguous problems using AI technologies. You will be responsible for a greenfield application used on thousands of devices used across all Whole Foods Market Stores. The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment. As a SDM, you will help tackle a diverse landscape of challenges. We are an early-stage initiative, and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete timelines and prototyping concepts in partnership with other Amazon teams, technology leaders within the team and across the business.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
