AMZL Expansion Manager, Growth and Expansion

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Brazil is looking for an experienced project and program manager to lead several projects concurrently in support of our growth. You will own a portfolio of projects and will be accountable to their end-to-end development: from scoping, to execution, through successful completion and adoption. You will work closely with leadership and AMZL support areas to find opportunities for growth and improvement and will be responsible for the adoption of the correct products and tools to raise the bar on performance and quality for our customers.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work across disciplines, organizations, and geographies, translating complex technical and operational concepts for varied audiences. You must think big, move fast, and pivot frequently in a dynamic environment. Prior experience in logistics is a plus, but hands-on experience in operations is a must.
- Key job responsibilities
- Manage complex operational projects from start to finish and be accountable for key metrics and overall results.
- Own Project Governance from start to finish, using effective methodology, tools, and communication skills.
- Analyze long-term planning data to identify density opportunities in support of leadership; model this data to assist in mounting a strategic expansion plan.
- Write business cases in support of new initiatives using data from multiple stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for defect reduction, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and growth.
- Perform problem solving -- evaluating alternatives, and identifying solutions using innovative, frugal methods.
A day in the life
You will:
- Work with teams across Amazon to scope project requirements, including Ops, Tax, Legal, Accounting, Tech, etc.
- Manage project implementation, including making sure that all stakeholders are kept up-to-date.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure project adoption across the AMZL network.
About the team
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon's "Last Mile" delivery service, responsible for delivering packages (and smiles) to homes and businesses across the planet. Within AMZL Brazil, the Planning & Expansion (P&E) team overlooks 3 main areas in support to AMZL´s operation and growth: (1) Jurisdiction planning and management, driving the growth and optimization of our delivery/pick-up coverage and topology; (2) Capacity planning, ensuring adequate capacity in short/medium/long term to maximize attainment of volume within AMZL´s jurisdiction; and (3) Expansion initiatives, coordinating local efforts on “big rock” projects that enable new types of operations, new sales and delivery channels, modes of transport (Fleet types, micromobility) and end-to-end programmatic coordination of AMZL´s network expansion.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
