
Manager, Brazil Public Policy
About the role
Amazon is seeking a Manager, Public Policy, who will be responsible for developing and executing government affairs advocacy objectives and policy priorities for telecommunications issues in Brazil. As Manager, Public Policy you will effectively educate key government officials and their staff on Amazon’s business in Brazil and on policy issues that impact our businesses, customers, and employees.
- Key job responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with business units, Legal, PR and other internal operations teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.
- Assess and communicate potential government activities, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies. and positions.
- Coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.
- Facilitate high-level meetings for executives and business leaders with key policymakers and other relevant stakeholders in Brazil.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of public policy experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience working on federal policy issues in Brazil
- An ability and desire to travel is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
- Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage complex regulatory and political issues
- Experience identifying and understanding key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations, business implications, synthesizing information for internal and external customers, and recommending the best course of action
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate, legislative, regulatory agency, and other government levels
- Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.
