Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial lawyer to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel – Network Infrastructure, supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and more.
Key job responsibilities
This attorney will support AWS's network infrastructure. This attorney will be responsible for AWS’s subsea and terrestrial network transactions and for managing network regulatory and compliance matters. This attorney will be responsible for identifying opportunities for automation and simplification and implementing scalable mechanisms to recognize these opportunities. This attorney will also be responsible for resolving legal issues that arise in commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes.
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys working hard and being challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
  • Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
