Amazon Ring team is leading the next phase of AI adoption and is seeking a hands-on AI Builder Specialist. AI Builders are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs.
As part of the Ring organization, AI Builders work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. AI Builders craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. This might involve building AI based solutions for improving operational excellence.
AI Builders play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. As domain experts, AI Builders also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field.
This role focuses on converting AI ambition into programs that can be delivered, operated, and scaled in production environments.

• Key job responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of features, from conception to launch

• Work with team members to investigate design approaches, prototype technology and evaluate technical feasibility.

• Help to improve engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness.

• Implement robust and maintainable code with clear and maintained documentation,

• Deliver customer value in iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems to solve roadmap goals with increasing efficiency,

• Solve challenging problems and perform root-cause analysis,

• Serve as a technical lead and own projects end-to-end,

• Communicate status and changes to the work they are responsible and accountable for, keep all stakeholders informed of changes and updates to original plan,

• Serve as a technical mentor for other engineers on the team,

• Design test automation on all code implemented through unit testing and integration testing,
  Work with internal and external teams to bring Ring technology to market

• Develop features which are used by millions of customers each day

• Get to use the latest and greatest AI technologies in order to deliver high quality features

• Have an opportunity to support and influence key decisions within the mobile platform and promote best coding practices

• Work closely with other team members to ensure new features are implemented in extensible, maintainable ways

• Regularly work with backend developers to help support how our app integrates with back-end services

• Write well-tested code using modern architectural principles

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
