About the role

Department Overview:

At Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), delivery volumes continue to grow year over year as we strive to reliably deliver products to our customers. The "last mile" delivery segment—from the final shipping hub to the customer's doorstep—demands industry-wide transformation, requiring the rapid development of innovative delivery services and network infrastructure.

Team Overview (Tech Team):
The Tech Team is responsible for maintaining and operating the system infrastructure that supports collaboration with major delivery partners, as well as driving automation of business processes. We contribute to the efficiency and quality improvement of our rapidly expanding delivery business through configuration management of transportation management systems (aka, ATROPS in Amazon), promotion of transportation-related system and product development, and automation of data input workflows. Driving product development in coordination with overseas development teams is also a key part of our mission.

Position Overview:

This role focuses on the configuration and maintenance of transportation management systems while also driving business process automation and product development in collaboration with overseas development teams. The position involves designing and implementing automation solutions to streamline existing operational workflows, as well as working closely with offshore development teams to drive the smooth development of transportation-related systems and products.

  • Configuration changes and maintenance of transportation management systems (ATROPS)

  • Business process automation (scripting and systemizing data input workflows, etc.)

  • Driving transportation-related system and product development in coordination with overseas development teams

  • Technical requirement coordination and communication with internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, including design, development, test, build, deployment processes and timelines
  • 2+ years of IT experience, or experience in similar technical or vocational roles
  • Experience articulating complex concepts to cross-functional audiences in business-proficient English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
  • Experience in transportation or supply chain
  • Japanese language communication skills (such as JLPT: N3, N4)
