Are you passionate about AWS performance and creating a reliable, high-quality datapipeline that directly impact executive leadership decisions? Join our CXBT team as a Manager III, Software Development, where you'll lead a critical engineering team responsible for delivering data consumed by AWS S-Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the performance across a wide breadth of AWS services while managing both technical execution and team growth in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
You'll work closely with our US-based teams to ensure exceptional data quality standards while driving innovation in scalable data platforms. This position combines deep technical leadership with people management, requiring someone who can balance strategic roadmap planning with hands-on technical validation and team development.
- Key job responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high-performing software development team focused on delivering reliable data pipelines that meet executive-level quality standards and consumption requirements
- Drive technical roadmap planning and execution for data platforms, ensuring architectural decisions align with long-term strategic goals and support scalable, maintainable systems
- Conduct regular 1:1s with team members, providing mentorship, career development guidance, and performance management to build a team that delivers successfully without constant oversight
- Validate data quality standards and implement mechanisms to ensure data reliability meets the stringent requirements for leadership consumption and decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define team vision, manage competing priorities, and communicate technical decisions effectively across the organization
A day in the life
Your day begins by reviewing overnight data pipeline health and quality metrics before diving into 1:1 meetings with your engineers to discuss career growth and remove technical blockers. You'll spend time validating critical data quality issues, collaborating with AWS service teams on integration challenges, and refining the team roadmap to balance immediate executive data needs with long-term platform scalability. You'll also participate in architecture reviews and stakeholder meetings to ensure your team's solutions align with broader organizational objectives.

“Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings – for almost every business at Amazon – for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers). Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds – including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
