We're seeking a talented commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel – Real Estate/Colocation. In this pivotal role, you'll be the legal architect transforming cloud computing infrastructure through strategic real estate transactions and comprehensive legal support.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate complex real estate agreements supporting AWS's worldwide data center portfolio
  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel on transactional matters, interpreting contracts with precision and strategic insight
  • Manage external counsel relationships and oversee portfolio of real estate transactions
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and legal operations
  • Resolve legal challenges in commercial relationships and handle pre-litigation inquiries

You'll navigate complex real estate negotiations, draft transformative agreements, and provide critical legal guidance that supports AWS's objectives. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of real estate transactional documents (i.e. leases, lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements, easements, development agreements, co-ownership agreements etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Experience with Zoning and Land Use work

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
