Are you excited about building the critical financial infrastructure that powers one of the world's largest streaming services? Do you want to lead engineering teams solving complex financial automation challenges at global scale?
The Financial Systems Organization within Prime Video designs, builds, and maintains the financial infrastructure powering Prime Video's global operations. We handle complex financial workflows across Accounting, Finance, Legal and Tax and process billions of dollars in financial obligations annually.
Prime Video's Financial Systems Organization is seeking a Senior Product Manager-Technical to own the end-to-end accounting experience for Amazon MGM Studios. In this role, you will serve as Accounting's spokesperson and primary liaison between Accounting, FBI, and engineering teams — translating complex financial domain requirements into product vision and technical solutions at scale.
You will define the product roadmap for Studios-specific accounting capabilities spanning journal entry automation, cost capitalization, amortization scheduling, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation. You will shape Accounting's AI strategy, rethinking the month-end close process by leveraging AI to automate routine tasks, surface anomalies, and defer high-judgment decisions to accountants. You will navigate complex financial scenarios including production cost capitalization, co-production accounting, distribution revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, and GAAP/IFRS compliance.
- Key job responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap for Studios accounting capabilities, defining features that automate journal entry creation, cost capitalization, amortization schedules, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes
- Embed with Amazon MGM Studios Accounting teams to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities across data extraction, booking accruals/MJEs, anomaly detection, and account reconciliation
- Evaluate how various accounting tools interact and define a unified experience that eliminates tool overlap and confusion
- Define Accounting's AI strategy — identifying opportunities to automate the month-end close, surface anomalies, and reduce manual effort while preserving accountant judgment for high-complexity decisions
- Serve as the bridge between Studios accounting subject matter experts and engineering teams, translating complex accounting requirements into clear technical specifications
- Serve as Accounting's point of contact for tech debt, working across engineering teams to define solution design and advocate for the customer
- Identify gaps in requirements vs. existing systems for new business launches, collaborating with FBI to define and improve launch processes
- Establish vision, goals, and tenets; contribute to OP1/OP2 narratives and engineering roadmaps
- Define and track key metrics: accounting accuracy (99.99%+), financial close timeliness, manual hour reduction, reconciliation completion rates, and adoption of automated solutions
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, Quick Sight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
