
Sr. Salesforce Developer, Advertiser Growth Tech
About the role
Amazon Ads Marketing Technology builds the systems that power how Amazon reaches, engages, and grows its advertiser base globally. Our stack spans Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Engagement, Personalization, Intelligence), Salesforce Data Cloud 360, Adobe Experience Manager, and Amazon first-party services — delivering a unified, AI-powered marketing platform that drives personalized advertiser experiences at scale. As a Sr. Salesforce Administrator, you design, build, and operate the technical infrastructure behind multi-channel advertiser journeys, automated campaign workflows, and personalized communications. You are the technical bridge between marketing strategy and platform execution — partnering with Principal Architects, Product Managers, Software Engineers and cross-functional teams across Amazon Ads, Sales, and AWS Marketing.
- Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and test (DBT) Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions including customer journey campaigns, automation workflows, email templates, content blocks, Cloud Pages, and reporting extracts.
- Build and maintain responsive email templates and landing pages using HTML, CSS, and AMPscript within Content Builder and Email Studio.
- Develop and optimize multi-channel customer journeys in Journey Builder and automated workflows in Automation Studio.
- Implement refined business logic using AMPscript and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) for dynamic content, personalization, and conditional rendering.
- Manage data extensions, audience segmentation, and advanced data manipulation using SQL within Marketing Cloud.
- Configure and maintain Marketing Cloud Connect to synchronize data with Salesforce Sales Cloud and external systems via REST and SOAP APIs.
- Integrate Salesforce Marketing Cloud with Salesforce Data Cloud 360 for high-scale audience segmentation, profile enrichment, and downstream journey activation.
- Support integration with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for static content and image asset synchronization via the AEM-SFMC native connector.
- Collaborate with Marketing Architects and business stakeholders to translate campaign requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in SFMC, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical mentorship to team members.
- Analyze campaign metrics and data to identify optimization opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Stay current on Salesforce Marketing Cloud best practices, platform releases, and emerging Mar Tech trends.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience spanning Email Studio, Journey Builder, Content Builder, Automation Studio, and Cloud Pages
- Expert proficiency in AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with data extensions, data modeling, ETL/GTL processes, audience segmentation, and Salesforce Data Cloud integration
- Experience developing with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Metadata)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud 360 for audience segmentation, profile unification, and journey activation
- Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect, Sales/Service Cloud integration, or Mobile Studio
- Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or Digital Asset Management systems for content synchronization
- Knowledge of AWS services, version control (Git), CI/CD practices, or Salesforce platform development (Apex, SOQL, Lightning)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
