About the role

Central Operations refers to a new approach in Amazon Logistics (AMZL) to define a scalable solution to run the increasingly complex and growing last mile delivery network. Central Operations is a key strategic initiative with a vision to transform the way AMZL executes route planning, scheduling, on-road management and last mile delivery.

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to join the team and drive improvement in processes and technology used within the operational team. This person will have a strong ability to excel and develop in new teams with a high degree of ambiguity.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Seek to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions and reasons behind leadership decisions
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal business partners
  • Oversee gaps between teams, processes and systems
  • Identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
  • Ensure critical path timelines are met, resource needs are understood and project prioritization is visible to senior leadership
  • Work closely with operations, product teams and engineering teams to root cause and solve complex problems related to increasing capability and reliability of our systems
  • Partnering with other analysts and BI engineers in planning and analytics to build analytical solutions to deliver on business goals

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
  • Business level English

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree or above in business administration, management, economics, e-commerce, mathematics, engineering, statistics or related field
