Sr. Manager, Solutions Architecture, Financial Services (Insurance)
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Solutions Architecture to lead our Solutions Architecture team supporting our biggest Insurance customers within the AWS Canada Financial Services Business. This role combines deep industry expertise with people leadership to drive customer success and business growth for our most strategic accounts in Canada's rapidly evolving Financial Services ecosystem.
We are looking for an accomplished technical leader with experience across product, architecture, and technology who has worked with large Enterprises and high-growth organizations. In this capacity, the leader will guide a cross-functional team of FSI solutions architects who provide deep technical expertise to customers. The team that this person will lead also acts as an important feedback ingestion point from all customers in Canada that directly feeds into the roadmap for product and services teams at AWS.
Key job responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and develop a team of Solution Architects for key Financial Services accounts
- Drive performance management, hiring, and team member career growth
- Provide technical coaching with deep industry expertise
Strategic Account Management
- Develop and execute technical strategy for major FSI accounts
- Partner with cross-functional teams across Solution Architecture, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, and Training to execute customer acquisition programs and strategies
- Build technical relationships with customer executives and decision makers
- Lead complex engagements across content production, broadcast, streaming, gaming, and sports analytics
- Measure and optimize team effectiveness through defined KPIs
Technical Leadership & Innovation
- Guide digital transformation initiatives including cloud migration and content delivery optimization
- Support executive briefings and technical deep-dive sessions
Industry Impact & Development
- Guide the development of whitepapers, presentations, and other high-value customer-facing content to share best practices

Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of sales, technical pre-sales, product development, or customer facing resources experience
- 6+ years of managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles experience
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.
- Experience in direct customer engagement, with a focus on support to senior executives (Vice President and C-level)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- AWS Professional level certification, or degree in advanced technology

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life & AD&D insurance), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and other resources to improve health and well-being.
