Position: Tech Ops Engineer II - AMZ26688.3
Location: Chicago, IL
Multiple Positions Available:
- Utilize tools and templates for bid analysis and cost management.
- Engage and manage third-party Quantity Surveyor vendors. Ensure accurate and timely vendor invoices.
- Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams globally, and
communicate cost control goals effectively to all stakeholders. - Identify and quantify Value Engineering opportunities in design, and assess project risks and their financial impacts.
- Update historical data repository. Define and track cost performance metrics.
- Analyze Construction vendor proposals using AWS benchmark data. Create accurate bid leveling documents. Provide cost analysis of schedule and design variations.
- Validate final award value, schedule and scope based on contract documents. Validate change cost impacts.
- Implement, maintain and execute cost control, change management, and performance reporting.
- Support project close-out and final payments.
- Deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Domestic travel up to 30% to perform role responsibilities may
be required

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field followed by 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Experience must include 2 years in each of the following:
- Construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical or ASC cost elements.
- Data Center or other mission critical construction environments
- Construction management
- Reviewing and justifying budgets
- Communicating estimate strategy to construction and nonconstruction professionals
- Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen takeoff, Timberline and Bluebeam, as well as an MS Office Suite 'power user’.
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $124093 - $183300 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
