About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) organization is responsible for scaling and maintaining Amazon's global network capacity. Within NLM, the Lighthouse team owns the end to end link connectivity service to plan, build and operate the AWS network.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Own the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that support Amazon's end-to-end link lifecycle infrastructure
  • Define technical direction and architect systems that improve network reliability, automation, and operational efficiency at scale
  • Drive projects from concept through deployment, making independent decisions on approach, prioritization, and trade-offs
  • Build and maintain highly available, distributed services that directly impact Amazon's global network operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with network engineers, systems engineers, and partner teams to identify requirements and deliver integrated solutions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, and innovate across existing systems and processes
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance
  • Contribute to operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations, driving root cause analyses, and reducing operational burden through automation
