About the role

Join our dynamic Tax Planning team and drive strategic initiatives that maximize value for our company. In this role, you will develop comprehensive tax planning solutions tailored to the upcoming Brazilian Tax Reform and our evolving business needs, playing a critical role in navigating one of the most significant fiscal transformations in Brazil's history.

You will spearhead the analysis of complex tax laws, regulations, and incentives to identify innovative ways to optimize our company's tax position across the entire reform transition period. Partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders — including Finance, Business, Legal, and Technology teams — you will align tax planning strategies with broader business objectives and growth initiatives. You will drive the implementation of approved tax planning strategies, ensuring seamless execution and long-term sustainability while managing risk and maintaining compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical tax knowledge with strategic thinking, thrives in ambiguity, and can translate complex regulatory changes into actionable business recommendations at scale.

  • Key job responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the company's overall tax planning strategy to optimize tax efficiency and minimize the organization's tax liabilities.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of the company's operations, transactions, and financial data to identify opportunities for tax savings and strategic planning.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest changes in Brazilian tax laws, regulations, and incentives, and evaluate their impact on the business, with particular focus on the ongoing Tax Reform transition.

  • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, legal, and business teams to align tax planning with the company's broader business objectives and growth initiatives.

  • Prepare detailed tax planning recommendations and proposals, presenting them to senior leadership for approval and decision-making.

  • Coordinate the implementation of approved tax planning strategies, ensuring proper documentation, execution, and long-term sustainability.

A day in the life
This position is not directly involved in day-to-day indirect taxes compliance but is responsible for delivering the advisory planning, real time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects across regions, including supporting engagements and negotiations with external advisors, government bodies, tax authorities, and auditors.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)
  • Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
  • Advanced to fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
