About the role

AWS Marketplace and Partner Services (AMPS) is revolutionizing how software and services are discovered, bought, sold, and deployed in the cloud. As the premier digital catalog for AWS, we enable millions of customers to find and purchase software solutions from thousands of independent software vendors (ISVs), while empowering partners to build, scale, and grow their cloud businesses. We're the critical bridge in one of the world's largest and fastest-growing technology ecosystems, driving billions in commerce annually.

  • We're seeking a Principal UX Designer to lead the design vision for our marketplace and partner platform experiences. This is a rare opportunity to shape how enterprise software is bought and sold at global scale. You'll define experience strategies that span our entire ecosystem
  • AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and complete buyer journeys from discovery through procurement and deployment - transforming complex workflows into intuitive experiences and empowering ISV partners with elegant tools to manage and grow their businesses on AWS.

As a Principal Designer, you will not only drive design at the highest levels of complexity but also influence product and business strategy, mentor designers across the organization, and set new standards for B2B marketplace experiences. You'll partner closely with product management, engineering, business development, and sales leadership to push the boundaries of what's possible in enterprise commerce and partner enablement.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end UX vision and strategy across AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and complete buyer journeys spanning discovery, procurement, and deployment, ensuring experiences are intuitive, scalable, and drive measurable business outcomes for thousands of partners and millions of customers
  • Set the bar for B2B marketplace design by translating complex procurement, licensing, and partner management workflows into coherent, human-centered experiences that build trust and accelerate adoption
  • Influence product and business direction, working with senior leadership to identify opportunities where design innovation can transform buyer, seller, and partner outcomes across the AMPS ecosystem
  • Define and drive cross-service design standards including interaction models, experience principles, design systems, and reusable patterns that ensure consistency across AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and adjacent partner surfaces
  • Lead end-to-end design from strategy through execution: create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate detailed interaction behaviors
  • Mentor and elevate designers across the organization, coaching teams and raising the overall quality of craft, storytelling, and execution
  • Analyze buyer, seller, and partner problems using market research, data, user feedback, and usability findings to create on-brand design solutions that meet business goals and requirements
  • Be a thought leader and design advocate, evangelizing design excellence and customer-centric thinking through compelling storytelling and cross-org collaboration
  • Present design work to user experience teams, product stakeholders, and executive leadership for review, feedback, and alignment
  • Partner with engineering teams to bring experiences to life: provide design specifications, create assets, review implementations, and ensure quality through delivery

A day in the life
As a Principal UX Designer for AMPS, you'll own design across AWS Marketplace, Partner Central, and complete buyer journeys that impact millions of customers and thousands of partners worldwide. Your work spans the full breadth of our ecosystem - from how buyers discover and procure software, to how partners onboard, manage listings, and grow their businesses on AWS. You'll lead design strategy from concept through execution, creating user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity specifications that set the standard for marketplace and B2B experiences.

You'll partner with product and engineering leaders to influence roadmaps and drive strategic decisions. You'll lead design critiques and mentor designers across the organization, elevating craft and raising the bar for quality. You'll regularly present design work to senior leadership, translating customer and partner insights into compelling design solutions that solve complex business challenges. You must be responsive, flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment while delivering exceptional design at enterprise scale.
