About the role

Join Amazon's Finance and Global Business Services team to drive strategic financial decisions that shape our global operations. In this role, you'll partner with business leaders across the company to translate complex data into actionable insights that influence company-wide strategy and deliver measurable impact.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models using advanced Excel and financial systems to analyze large datasets, interpret trends, and develop recommendations that inform strategic decisions across the organization

  • Support financial close processes by preparing plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations on a weekly and monthly basis using financial systems and data analysis tools

  • Develop financial reports and analyses that identify cost reduction opportunities, track key metrics, and communicate findings clearly to business leaders and stakeholders

  • Partner with business units to understand their financial needs, manage competing priorities, and provide data-driven guidance during periods of change or uncertainty

  • Enhance financial processes and tools by identifying opportunities to improve, scale, or simplify systems and workflows across teams and the broader organization

A day in the life
You will work at the intersection of data and strategy, supporting our organization's most critical financial decisions. Your day might include building financial models using advanced Excel and data analysis tools to uncover trends in large datasets, collaborating with business unit leaders to understand their priorities and challenges and presenting your findings in clear, compelling ways to executives and stakeholders. You'll balance multiple projects simultaneously, from supporting our weekly and monthly financial close processes to identifying cost reduction opportunities and improving our financial systems. Beyond routine responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to innovate, developing creative solutions to complex problems.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
