AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing accounts to enterprise-level customers. This is an on-site position requiring regular presence at AWS offices and customer locations to deliver hands-on technical engagement and build strong customer relationships.

As a Senior Solutions Architect on the Hi-Tech & Semiconductor team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS services — including compute, storage, networking, analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI, and HPC — within hi-tech and semiconductor accounts pursuing cloud modernization and digital transformation.

You will be the bridge between our customers' most complex computational challenges and AWS's most advanced cloud infrastructure capabilities. You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, with a strong focus on:

Cloud Modernization & Infrastructure Optimization: Helping customers modernize their infrastructure, optimize compute-intensive and memory-intensive workloads, and transition to cloud-native architectures

Compute-Intensive Workload Architecture: Architecting scalable solutions for demanding engineering workloads — including frontend design (RTL, synthesis, simulation), backend design (place and route, timing closure, signoff), CAE/CAD product engineering, and HPC orchestration

GenAI & Agentic AI Adoption: Driving customer outcomes with generative AI solutions — from AI-assisted chip design and verification to intelligent automation across hi-tech product development

Customer Expansion: Accelerating cloud adoption through technical excellence, outcome-driven engagement, and industry-specific reference architectures

The ideal candidate will possess customer-facing skills that allow you to represent AWS well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel, as well as a technical background that enables you to easily interact and give guidance to chip designers, software developers, IT architects, and C-level executives on digital transformation strategies.

• Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team in enabling customers to build best practice, capabilities, and solutions on the AWS platform
• Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria
• Own each technical enablement and engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community

A day in the life
As a Solution Architect at AWS, you'll drive customer success through technical excellence and strategic guidance. You'll engage with C-level executives and engineering teams on GenAI adoption strategies, lead modernization initiatives, and design cloud-native architectures. Your work includes conducting Well-Architected Reviews, facilitating Immersion Days and workshops, and collaborating with Account Managers and Specialist SAs on customer expansion strategies. You'll balance hands-on technical deep dives with executive-level discussions, directly impacting customer outcomes in datacenter exits, AI/ML workloads, and security resilience—making this role ideal for those who thrive at the intersection of technology and business transformation.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent, or 6+ months of relevant technical position experience
• Experience and literacy in Generative AI and its enterprise applications
• Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, Go, Java, C++) and/or scripting, Infrastructure as Code

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
• Experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent
