Onboarding Manager, AWS Cloud Logistics
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) is looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead our supplier and network onboarding function. In this role, you will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of onboarding new programs, suppliers, and logistics service providers into our global network — ensuring they are contractually, operationally, and systemically enabled to deliver on behalf of AWS.
This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of program management, stakeholder coordination, and operational excellence. You will define and drive the onboarding roadmap, establish reporting mechanisms that give leadership clear visibility into our pipeline and performance, and serve as the connective tissue between procurement, operations, warehousing, systems, and our external partners.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned program manager who thrives in ambiguity, can build structure where none exists, and has a track record of standing up scalable processes in fast-moving logistics or supply chain environments. You are data-driven, customer-obsessed, and energized by the challenge of enabling a global network to scale reliably.
-
Key job responsibilities
-
Own the strategy and execution for onboarding new programs into the ACL network — from intake through go-live — ensuring all stakeholders (suppliers, logistics partners, internal teams) are enabled for success.
-
Establish and own onboarding reporting cadences (WBR/MBR/QBR), providing executive-level visibility on supplier readiness, pipeline health, enablement metrics, and program performance.
-
Define and continuously improve the end-to-end onboarding process — including intake frameworks, milestone tracking, SLA definition, and stakeholder communication standards.
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for new program requests, working cross-functionally with procurement, global supply management, warehousing operations, and systems teams to assess scope, resource requirements, and timelines.
-
Lead cross-functional coordination across internal teams and external partners (carriers, LSPs, suppliers) to resolve onboarding blockers, drive accountability, and ensure commitments are met.
-
Build scalable playbooks and documentation that enable the team to onboard suppliers and programs at increasing volume without proportional headcount growth.
-
Partner with systems and technology teams to identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort in supplier enablement, agreement tracking, and status reporting.
-
Work in a team of onboarding specialists, establishing clear operating models including escalation frameworks and coverage rotations.
-
Identify and drive strategic improvements to the onboarding lifecycle — feeding lessons learned from current programs into process refinements for future waves.
-
A day in the life
-
Assess onboarding pipeline health and identify bottlenecks — triaging stuck suppliers, escalating blockers with external partners, and re-prioritizing work based on business urgency and program launch timelines.
-
Coordinate across procurement, operations, warehousing, and systems teams to unblock supplier enablement — whether that's chasing a legal agreement, pushing a systems configuration, or aligning on a go-live date.
-
Develop and refine onboarding playbooks that standardize how we take a supplier from "new request" to "first shipment" — identifying gaps in the process and proposing scalable solutions to senior leadership.
-
Pull data from internal systems (booking portal, vendor service, shipment databases) to build a consolidated view of supplier readiness and report progress to leadership in WBR/MBR formats.
-
Lead stakeholder meetings with logistics service providers, suppliers, and internal teams — setting expectations, tracking commitments, and driving accountability for onboarding milestones.
-
Identify patterns in onboarding cycle times, failure points, and supplier compliance data to propose process improvements that reduce time-to-enable and improve supplier experience.
-
Partner with technology teams to translate manual processes into automated workflows — finding opportunities to eliminate repetitive coordination and create self-service capabilities for internal customers.
